The truth about a modern day diet is that food-related diseases such as diabetes are on the increase. We are all aware of the risk, but are we doing enough to protect ourselves from what has for 1 in 3 Americans become the norm?
Who’s to blame? wtth teenagers in the States suing McDonalds for making them fat. Who actually has the duty of care to take charge and make the public aware of what they are eating?
Perhaps it's time to sit up and take a look at what effect our diet is having on our immune system. Excessive rened foods such as bread, biscuits, white pasta and confectionary lead to blood sugar rising, which can result in type-2 diabetes.
By controlling blood sugar levels and eating a diet rich in whole foods and superfoods, damage to our bodies can be controlled and repaired.
Hollywood star Halle Berry was diagnosed with type-1 diabetes, she follows a diet rich in raw whole foods and is no longer insulin dependent. She claims to have cured diabetes through her healthy diet. A raw diet is rich in raw fruit, vegetables, nuts and seeds.
When food is cooked up to 30% of the nutrients are lost. The natural enzymes within the food deplete and our body is required to produce more enzymes to digest the meal.
This puts a strain on on digestive system and takes more energy from the body to digest our food. It takes only hours to digest a salad, and yet up to two days to digest a meal consisting of meat.
By making better choices; by educating ourselves on foods that are nutritious, and by adding them to our diet, we will begin to see energy levels increase, weight controlled and stress levels reduced.
We will also protect our bodies against diabetes, heart conditions, IBS, chronic fatigue syndrome, and food allergies such as gluten and lactose intolerances.
Diabetes does not have to be an inevitability. It's a ltestyle choice, and you don’t have to be another statistic to the global diabetes crisis. Enjoying a balarced healthy diet will result in a balanced healthy you.
