People's opinions of the foods they eat are changing rapidly and since beginning Rawchi Lifestyle I have seen a shift in public perception. Previously I was on the fringe of what was seen as a healthy eating fad, another crazy diet, and when I would wave my Rawchi Lifestyle flag, sticking my head above the parapet, speaking out in the press and on radio I was often considered 'out there' in my food choices. Which simply are just adding more whole foods to my diet and try each day to make better choices, less processed food, caffeine free, more fresh vegetables, fruit, nuts and seeds. We need never feel denied if we just make some conscious healthy choices each day, consciously choosing food by 'eat to live' mantra, not 'live to eat’.
Eating more whole foods has become a lifestyle choice and people are reaping the benefits, this new awakening is allowing me to be able to teach a wider audience and witness many more health breakthroughs. It’s been a privileged to be reaching out to thousands of people wanting to improve their health through the foods they eat.
With so many food choices out there, staying healthy can have it challenges, temptation is in our path the whole time and I coach my clients to recognise that small changes to their diet can make a big difference. Too many of us get caught up in labelling ourselves, such as vegan, raw, vegetarian, paleo... the list is endless. These labels can cause us stress, can cause us to put expectations on ourselves and make us feel boxed in and we all know stress is bad for our health.
I do my best to be as healthy as I can but I recognise that life is here to experience for all it’s offering and I won’t deny myself the odd guilty pleasures along the way to give me a sense of balance, I still enjoy a delicious rich glass or 2 of wine and cooking a hearty fish pie for my growing rabble. I love nothing more than to pop out to our local Italian restaurant on night out with friends and family. It’s recognising when the guilty pleasures tip over into everyday life and make the waist band on my jeans a little tight or make me sluggish and in need of an extra hours sleep, it’s then that a I return to a diet to include more whole foods and jump on my spin bike.
Since having the children I have struggled to loose the baby weight and sleepless nights has sometimes contributed to poor diet choices, my blends have seen me through these times and improved my immune system when all these external factors where testing me.
